Expanded Maternity Leave (RA 11210)
Female employees are entitled to paid maternity leave for childbirth or pregnancy-related conditions.
Leave Duration:
- Live childbirth: 105 days
- Solo parent: Additional 15 days (total 120 days)
- Miscarriage/Emergency termination: 60 days
Additional Benefits:
- Option to extend for additional 30 days (unpaid)
- 7 days can be transferred to the father or alternate caregiver
- SSS maternity benefit is separate from employer benefit
Eligibility:
- All female workers in public and private sectors
- At least 3 monthly SSS contributions in the 12-month period before delivery
